This wine is made of 100% Montepulciano. A fuller version of this wine, with a palate of darker berry fruit and a pleasant herbal spice. Still very smooth and delicious, and great with a sausage and broccoli rabe pizza - takeout or homemade will do. The juice for this bottling is aged in wood for 18 months, resulting in a more robust and complex expression of the Montepulciano grape. The name 'Spelt' also refers to the type of wheat that once grew where the winery is currently located.
